Cougars finish strong with win over Earlham

Box Score PITTSBURGH, Pa. – APRIL 14th, 2018 – The Cougars came up victorious this afternoon against Earlham.
 
THE SHORT STORY
Chatham went on a five goal scoring streak to start the game off. Earlham was unable to find the back of the net until 17 minutes into the game. The final eight minutes saw nine goals total. Heading into halftime, the Cougars held a 9-6 advantage. Chatham would maintain control of the game finishing 16-12 over the Quakers. The Cougars outshot Earlham 48-25 and dominated draw controls going 20-for-29.
 
KEY COUGARS
Kendra McBroom led the team with five goals, two assists, three ground balls, two caused turnovers and four draw controls. Kristina Block, Sydney Collins and Madison Black recorded three goals apiece. Block added one assists and four ground balls. Collins won seven draw controls and five ground balls. Black picked up four draw controls victories and three ground balls. Anna Prendergast found the back of the net twice with one assist and seven ground balls. Prendergast added two draw controls and two caused turnovers. Jenifer McLaren tallied seven ground balls, three draw controls and one assist. In the net for the Cougars, Maria Cefola made 10 saves.

Today's game is dedicated to the One Love Foundation. The One Love Foundation was created in 2010 to honor the memory of Yeardley Love. Yeardley was a University of Virginia senior who was beaten to death by her ex-boyfriend just weeks before graduation. 
Today, One Love's ambitious goal is to end relationship violence by educating, empowering and activating young people in a movement for social change.  To achieve this, One Love develops creative technology-based tools and resources that meet young people where they are and inspire them to action.
