Chatham falls to Averett 18-6

Box Score PITTSBURGH, Pa. – MARCH 7th, 2018 – Chatham fell to the Cougars of Averett 18-6.  
 
THE SHORT STORY
Averett was first on the board scoring four unanswered goals. Chatham's Kendra Bloom found the back of the net at 16:38 with an assist from Sydney Collins. Collins then scored a goal of her own less than two minutes later. The Cougars would score four more goals in the first half but Averett still held an 11-6 edge over Chatham after the first 30 minutes. In the second half, Chatham was unable to score. Averett would defeat Chatham by a final score of 18-6.
 
KEY COUGARS
Kendra Bloom registered four goals, five draw controls and two caused turnovers. Sydney Collins tabbed two goals, one assists, four groundballs, four draw controls and two caused turnovers. Danielle Bos totaled five draw control wins.

Chatham University in Pittsburgh, PA is a member of the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) and offers nine Division III women's sports and seven men's sports. Chatham will add women's lacrosse beginning play in 2017-2018. Chatham has added five men's sports competing this academic year: baseball, basketball, cross country, swimming & diving, track & field. Chatham will add two more men's varsity sports beginning play in 2017-2018; ice hockey and lacrosse.
