Chatham edged by Westminster 12-11

Box Score PITTSBURGH, Pa. – MARCH 30th, 2018 – Chatham was edged by Westminster in the final two minutes, falling 12-11.    
 
THE SHORT STORY
Chatham took the lead in the first five minutes scoring four unanswered goals. Westminster would then go on a five goal scoring streak over the next ten minutes of the first half. The half would end 6-5 Westminster after two more goals by both teams in the final minutes. The Cougars came out clawing in the second half with two goals to start it off. The Cougars and Titans would go back and forth the rest of the game. Westminster would find the back of the net with less than two minutes remaining to give the Titans a 12-11 edge over Chatham.
 
KEY COUGARS
Leading the Cougars in scoring was Jenifer McLaren with three goals off of three shots. Kendra McBroom and Anna Prendergast each scored two goals. McBroom picked up one assist and two draw controls. Prendergast registered three ground balls. Lauren Singer, Kristina Block, Sydney Collins and Madison Black all found the back of the net once. Black won three draw controls. Block, Collins and Black each earned one caused turnover. Danielle Bos recorded two assists and two ground balls. Maria Cefola was in the net for the Cougars finishing with 18 saves and four ground balls.

Chatham will add women's lacrosse beginning play in 2017-2018. Chatham has added five men's sports competing this academic year: baseball, basketball, cross country, swimming & diving, track & field. Chatham will add two more men's varsity sports beginning play in 2017-2018; ice hockey and lacrosse.
