About Wynn the Battle (Courtesy of the PAC)
GREENVILLE, Pa. (pacathletics.org) – While Geneva College head women's basketball coach Lori Wynn has been forced to step away from her program and her players this season to confront a much different adversary, her passion and relentlessness to #wynnthebattle is as evident as ever.

Wynn, in her seventh season at Geneva, was diagnosed with Ovarian cancer last summer and continues to fight through rounds of chemotherapy. Her College Hill community and friends around the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) want to send her a clear message: she is not facing this battle alone.

"Just watching her team holding together and remaining resilient through this adversity, we wanted to bring positive attention to Geneva and their struggle. We all have a lot of respect for Lori and just wanted to show our support as a conference. We are always preaching to our teams that basketball is more than winning and losing, it's about life and making a positive impact on those around us," said Washington & Jefferson College head women's basketball coach Jina DeRubbo.

The league's 10 member schools are planning to host special #wynnthebattle events on January 28, February 1, Feb. 4 and Feb. 8 to benefit the Beaver County Cancer & Heart Association (BCCHA). Donations will be collected on site and #wynnthebattle T-shirts will be available at a number of these games, while some schools will be holding gift basket auctions, bake sales and 50-50 raffles to support the fundraising initiative.

"It is truly heartwarming to see Coach Wynn's courageous battle coupled with the PAC women's basketball coaches circling the wagons in support of one of their own that is in need. The #wynnthebattle events taking place around the PAC between January 28 and February 8 will raise both funds and awareness in the battle against this dreaded disease. I want to thank our coaches for their selfless support, and ask that everyone join us in supporting Coach Wynn's battle against cancer, both in prayer and in action," said PAC commissioner Joe Onderko.

If individuals are unable to attend one of the PAC's #wynnthebattle events, donations can be sent to:

Founded in 1988 following the merger of the Beaver County Cancer Society and Beaver County Heart Association, the BCCHA touches the lives of thousands of Beaver County residents every year through its commitment to the prevention of cancer and/or cardiovascular diseases.

Coach Wynn is scheduled to be at Geneva's Metheny Fieldhouse on Jan. 28 for the Golden Tornadoes' game against conference rival Saint Vincent College. Tipoff is slated for 4 p.m. and will be streamed live by the PAC Sports Network (PACSN).

Fans are encouraged to continue to use the hash tag #wynnthebattle as we remain inspired by Coach Wynn's determination and resolve to emerge stronger than ever.
