GENEVA, N.Y. – Nov. 19, 2017 – The Chatham University women's hockey team fell 7-1 on the road at William Smith in UCHC action on Sunday afternoon.
RECORDS: The Cougars fall to 1-5-0, 0-4-0 UCHC while the Herons improve to 5-0-1, 3-0-1 UCHC on the year.
WHAT'S NEXT: Chatham will head to Becker College on Nov. 25-26 in Worcester, Mass.
SCORING SUMMARY: The Herons notched two first-period goals and went ahead 5-0 in the second before senior defender
Kasandra Petersen (Faribault, Minn./Minnesota Blades) tallied her fourth goal of the season seven minutes into the second.
William Smith went on to score two more goals to wrap up the scoring. Petersen led the Cougars with six shots while senior forward
Marissa Janiga (East Aurora, N.Y./Buffalo Stars) notched five shots.
GOALTENDING: Three netminders played for Chatham as senior
Sydney Isbell (Thunder Bay, Ont./Thunder Bay Queens) earned the start, making 18 saves. Sophomore
Devon Strachan (West Chester, Pa./Lawrenceville) appeared in relief, making 17 stops, and first-year
Taylor Schwandt (West Chester, Pa./Northern Cyclones) played two minutes.
FACEOFFS: Senior forward
Cassidy Colhoun (Kincardine, Ont./Saugeen-Mailland Lightning) led the team with 15 faceoff wins and sophomore forward
Holly Ackerman (East Rockaway, N.J./Brewster Academy) followed with 10 wins.
