Cougars fall at Becker 5-2

Box Score MARLBOROGH, Ma – JANUARY 7th, 2016 – The Chatham Cougars fell to the Becker Hawks in the second game of the weekend series 5-2.  
 
The Basics
  • Records: Chatham (5-7-1 overall) Becker (4-9-1 overall)
  • Location: Becker College in Marlborough, Ma.
 
How it happened
  • Becker would score two unanswered goals in the first period followed by a power play goal in the second period.
  • The third period would include two Becker goals and two Chatham goals.
  • Junior Cassidy Colhoun would put the Cougars on the board at 5:05 in the third period assisted by first year Holly Ackerman and sophomore Michelle Jones.
  • At 12:39 Jones would score her second goal of the weekend assisted by junior Lyndsey Gallaway and Colhoun.
  • Chatham finished the game with a 46-21 edge in shots.
  • Sophomore Jillian Rowland led the Cougars in shots with 10.
  • Junior Kasandra Petersen tallied nine shots on net.
 
In the goal
  • Junior goaltender Sydney Isbell (Thunder Bay, ONT / Thunder Bay Queens) was in the net for the entire 60 minutes. She made 16 saves with five goals against.

  • Chatham is back on the road this weekend at Plattsburgh State for a two series starting Januarry 14th.

Chatham will add women's lacrosse beginning play in 2017-2018. Chatham has added five new men's sports in the 2015-2016 academic year: baseball, basketball, cross country, swimming & diving, track & field. Chatham will add two more men's varsity sports beginning play in 2017-2018; ice hockey and lacrosse.
