Cougars Dominate the Flying Dutchmen

Box Score PITTSBURGH, Pa – DECEMBER 3^RD, 2016 – The Chatham Cougars dominated the Lebanon Valley Flying Dutchmen this evening 6-1 in the first game of the weekend series.

How it happened

Chatham outshot Lebanon Valley 81-8!
The Flying Dutchmen would get the first goal of the night 2:41 into the first period but it would be the sole goal for Lebanon Valley.
Sophomore Jillian Rowland (St. Louis, Mo. / Chicago Fury) scored first for the Cougars with an unassisted goal at 14:06 in the first period.
Chatham would score three goals in the second period. Junior Cassidy Colhoun (Kincardine, ONT / Saugeen-Mailland Lightning) scored her first of three at 6:02 with an assist from sophomore Kirajean Frost (Harvard, Mass. / Boston Shamrocks).
Junior Marissa Janiga (East Aurora, N.Y. / Buffalo Stars) was the third Cougar to score assisted by Frost and sophomore Kristina Block (Scarborough, Maine / North Yarmouth Academy).
At 18:26 Colhoun tabbed her second goal for the night assisted by junior Lyndsey Gallaway (Wooster, Ohio / Ohio Flames) and first year Holly Ackerman (East Rockaway, N.Y. / Brewster Academy).
Sophomore Michelle Jones (Scarborough, ONT / Barrie Sharks PWHL) earned her first goal of the third period assisted by junior Kasandra Petersen (Faribault, Minn. / Minnesota Blades) and senior Erika Martin (Fairbanks, Ala. / Team Alaska).
Colhoun would bag the final goal of the night at 19:47 assisted by Ackerman.
Janiga led the team in shots with 12.
Colhoun took 11 shots this game.
Block chipped in 10 shots for the team.
The Cougars overpowered the Dutchmen in faceoffs 53-13.

In the goal

First Year goaltender Tara Riley (Windsor, N.Y. / Skaneateles U19) was in the goal for the Cougars this evening. She made seven saves with one goal against.
