Box Score PITTSBURGH, PA - SEPTEMBER 5, 2015 - Chatham Women's Soccer kept up their strong play this season as they faced off against Penn State Greater Allegheny today with a 11-0 victory. Forward
Julie Bruening (Madison, OH/Madison High School) led the Cougars in scoring netting 4 goals and adding to her season total with 7.
The Cougars looked as strong as they ever have in the sweltering 90 degree heat at Varsity Field this afternoon as they hosted a non-conference matchup against the Penn State Greater Allegheny Lions. There was no shortage of fundamental offense from the Cougars, as First Year
Julie Bruening notched an impressive 4 Goal-3 Assist game, complimented by 2 Goals from fellow First Year
Anne Radzanowski (Pittsburgh, PA/Chartiers Valley High School). The Cougars'
Megan Sieg (Pittsburgh, PA/Serra Catholic High School) and
Kassianna Politis (McMurray, PA/Peters Township, High School) both assisted on two goals a piece.
The first half featured 9 of the 11 Cougar goals in the game, while the second half proved to be centered around defense and facilitation, as Chatham kept the ball out of their own territory and applied solid pressure to contain the Lions offense. The Cougar's defense was solid enough to limit the Lions to only one shot on goal today, taking much of the pressure off Goalkeeper
Emmory Tardivo (Isabella, PA/Brownsville Area High School).
The Cougars' hope to keep their win streak alive as they square off against Hilbert College on Saturday, September 12th at Varsity Field.
