Box Score Pittsburgh, PA - Muskingum University traveled to Varsity Field on Sunday evening to take on the Cougars. The Muskies tallied 20 shots, scoring five, to earn a shutout victory over the Cougars in a non-conference match.
Muskingum got on the board early, with a goal by Junior Summer Setliff. The goal came on a rebound when a collision in front of the net knocked down Cougars goalkeeper
Liz Sawyer, leaving the net wide open for an easy put back.
The Cougars went down 3-0 after a late goal by Muskingum with 1:13 remaining in the first half. The Cougars had a great opportunity when Junior
Auralia Henderson beat multiple Muskie defenders and pushed a shot wide of the net. Â
When the final whistle sounded the Cougars finished the game with eight shots, three coming from midfielder Henderson.Â
The Cougars are now 0-2 to start the season, and will return to action on Saturday, September 6, when they travel to Hilbert College in Hamburg, NY.Â
