Chatham Basketball Falls to Thiel 64-53

Box Score GREENVILLE, PA – Elizabeth Lewis scored a season-high 13 points, but the Chatham University basketball team fell to Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) foe Thiel College 64-53 on Wednesday.  Chatham is now 3-21 overall and 2-15 in PAC play.  Thiel moves to 5-18 overall and 4-12 in the conference.
 
Lewis went 4-8 from the field and 4-4 from the free throw line, en route to her season high.  Becky Rowe drained a pair of threes, leading to eight points.  Jesse Hinkle scored seven points and grabbed a team-high 14 rebounds.  Jessica Manfredi also scored seven, and dished out three assists.
 
For Thiel, Jaclyn Watkins scored 15 points, while Bethany Hines and Laken Shields each scored 11.
 
Both teams connected on 20 field goals in the game.  Chatham made seven threes to Thiel's one.  The difference came at the free throw line, where the Tomcats shot 23-29 (79.3%) and Chatham went 6-10 (60.0%).
 
Chatham held an 18-15 advantage in points off turnovers.  Thiel led in second chance points (19-5) and in points in the paint (38-22).
 
Chatham wraps up the 2013-2014 regular season on Saturday, February 22, when they host Waynesburg University.  Game time is set for 2:00pm.
