Box Score Pittsburgh, Pa. – (11/2/2014) – The Chatham University hockey team continued to dominate SUNY Canton today at the McKnight Hockey Center. Chatham recorded their first home sweep in program history, and set a school record with 9 goals today. Eight Cougars found the SUNY net as the Cougars trounced the Kangaroos 9-2.
The first period saw Chatham score first, when junior forward
Erika Martin fired a shot passed the SUNY goaltender at (5:28) assisted by Junior forward
Erika Bronk (Fairport, NY.), and first year defender
Emma McFarlane (Ottawa, ON). Sophomore defender
Madison Alphin (Apex, NC) scored next for Chatham (15:17) assisted by sophomore defender
Kaitlyn Perrins (Calgary, Alberta) and sophomore forward
Jenny Jones (Kemersville, NC.).
Chatham added a third score in the first period, a power play goal by junior forward

Martin kicked off the second period with a power play goal (3:50) assisted by senior defender

The third period would see three Cougars score four goals within 3 minutes of each other, starting with Jones scoring short-handed and unassisted (11:15) followed by junior forward

First year forward
Cassidy Colhoun (Kincordine, ON) lit up the red light twice at (14:27) and ten seconds later (14:37) for her first goals of the year. Martin and Petersen would assist on the goals.
Senior goaltender
Megan Buchanan (Stittsville, Ont.) faced 19 shots by the Kangaroos. Jones went 9 for 13 on face-offs won, while Martin went 9 for 18.
Chatham will visit Stevenson University on Saturday November 8, 2014 at 5:00 p.m.
