Box Score WAYNESBURG, PA – Waynesburg University defeated Chatham University 92-54 on Saturday in Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) action. Chatham falls to 2-13 overall and 1-7 in the PAC. The Yellow Jackets improve to 8-7 overall (5-2 PAC).
Emily Schmidt led the Cougars with 14 points while
Rachel McClain tallied 12.
Dana Eastman drained a trio of three pointers en route to nine points.
Jesse Hinkle and
Kayla Saylor each grabbed six rebounds.
For Waynesburg, Haley Delaney scored 14. Elaine Hasek and Rebecca Kerr each scored 11, and Brooke Simons netted 10.
Chatham kept the game close early, as an
Elizabeth Lewis layup tied the game at seven with 15:18 remaining in the first half. Waynesburg responded with a 24-4 run, though, and Chatham could not make it close again.
Chatham shot 17-54 (31.5%) from the floor, while Waynesburg shot 35-80 (43.8%). Waynesburg held distinct advantages in points in the paint (50-20) and in bench points (62-17).
Chatham returns to action on Wednesday, January 22, when they host PAC foe Thiel College. Tip-off in the AFC is scheduled for 7:00pm.
