Box Score PITTSBURGH, PA –
Carolyn Bristow scored her first collegiate goal, and
Ashley Lamb netted her second of the season, but the Chatham University Soccer team fell to visiting Salem International University 3-2 on Tuesday.
Lamb took a corner kick from
Sarah Ellis in the 4
th minute of the game and found the back of the net to put Chatham (1-4) up early, 1-0. Kelly Smith and Kayla Franzese each scored for SIU (2-1) later in the first half, and the Tigers took a 2-1 advantage into halftime.
Bristow scored on a penalty kick in the 55
th minute to knot the score at two, but SIU's Kelly Hernandez scored an unassisted goal in the 67
th minute to put the Tigers back up 3-2.
Bristow and Ellis led the Cougars with three shots on goal apiece. Lamb recorded two, while
Lindsey Matusak and
Skylar Benjamin each tallied one.
Liz Sawyer made five saves in goal.
Chatham will return to action on Sunday, September 22, when they host Penn State-Beaver at 5:00pm.
