Box Score PITTSBURGH, PA – In her first collegiate game, Skylar Benjamin scored a goal just over ten minutes into the contest, but it wasn't enough as the Cougar soccer team fell in their 2013 season opener, 5-1 to Pitt-Greensburg. Benjamin led the Chatham offense with four shots and three shots on goal.

Pitt-Greensburg (1-0) got on the board first, as Tiffani Downey scored at the 8:35 mark. Downey would later complete a hat-trick, scoring early, and then midway, in the second half. Benjamin tied the game just a minute and a half later with an unassisted goal from straight away. The Bobcats' Courtney Carroll added another goal midway through the first half to give UPG a 2-1 lead, which they would carry into halftime.

Following Downey's two early goals in the second half, Shannon Wygonik made it 5-1 with a goal at the 87:54 mark.

Sarah Ellis matched Benjamin with four shots (all on goal). Lindsey Matusak and Becca Pell each recorded one shot. Liz Sawyer recorded seven saves in net for Chatham (0-1).

Downey led UPG with five shots on goal, while Carroll recorded four. Amanda Hydock made six saves.

Chatham returns to action on Tuesday, September 3, when they travel to La Roche College for a 6:00pm matchup with the Redhawks.
