CLERMONT, FL - It was a tough day for the Chatham softball team (1-7) as they were defeated in both games by double digit runs.
The Cougars kicked things off this morning against Clark University (5-3). The Cougars would be defeated 10-0 in the game as it came to an end after just five innings. The Cougars three hits would come from freshmen
Tori Cavanaugh,
Corryn Beard, and
Chloe Pagliarini.
On the mound for the Cougars would be senior
Victoria Murren and freshman
Caytlin Redeye. Murren would pitch for four innings and allow eight hits and six runs while striking out one batter. Redeye would finish out the game on the mounds for the Cougs with one hit and four runs allowed.
In the Cougars afternoon game, they would play Elizabethtown College (4-2) and fall 17-0 in a short five inning game as well. The Cougars offense would be led by a lone single hit coming from sophomore
Delaney Cole.
The Cougars mound work would come from four individuals: sophomore
Josie Underdonk, senior
Sheaden Berkson, sophomore
Delaney Simerly, and freshman
Madi Gorney. Underdonk would throw for three innings and allow eight hits and seven runs while striking out three batters. Berkson would follow behind with four hits and four runs of her own, while Simerly also allowed four runs. Gorney would finish things off with two hits and two runs but striking out two batters herself.
The Cougars are back in action tomorrow, March 6th for their final day in the Sunshine State when they take on Roger Williams at 10AM and then Susquehanna at 12:30PM.
