Cyprian, Kuntar Earn UCHC Weekly Awards

Rochester, NY - On Monday, the United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) released its weekly awards for the week of February 2nd. Among the players recognized were Cougars forward Nick Cyprian and goaltender Cameron Kuntar

Senior Nick Cyprian was named UCHC Player of the Week for the 2nd time this season, after leading the Cougars ' offense to a weekend series sweep. The Aledo, TX native surpassed the 110 career point threshold over the weekend series, finishing the two games with 6 total points. In Friday's game, Cyprian scored the game-winning goal while adding an assist. He stayed hot in game two, recording another goal and adding three assists, with one setting up the game-winning goal. Cyprian ranks 1st in the UCHC with 18 assists on the season. 

Junior Cameron Kuntar was named Co-UCHC Goaltender of the Week for the 3rd time this season, backstopping the Cougars to a lopsided victory in game 2. Kuntar was perfect, making 37 saves en route to earning his first shutout of the season. The Williamsville, NY native lowered his season-long goal-against average to 1.90, which ranks 2nd in the UCHC. His .945 save percentage leads all goaltenders in the conference.

Men's Hockey returned home on Friday, February 14th UCHC matchup with Elmira. Puck drop is scheduled for 4 pm at the Alpha Ice Complex.
