Pittsburgh, PA – On Wednesday, D3baseball.com/NCBWA released their top 25 rankings for the first week of the 2026 season. Among the teams receiving votes were the Cougars, who were recognized for the first time in program history.
The Cougars have come out of the gates hot, setting the tone with a 4-0 record. Baseball beat a previously top-ranked program, Muskingum, in the season opener, followed by a historic win over Penn State Greater Allegheny. The Cougars 25-3 victory set the program record for runs in a game and set the team record for most hit-by-pitches in a single game. The Cougars then swept Hilbert, an AMCC playoff team, last season, concluding their strong week.
Next up for Baseball is their annual spring training trip to Florida. The Cougars open up play against Trine on Saturday, November 28th. First pitch is slated for 2 pm.
