WAYNESBURG, Pa. – Chatham Men's Basketball (16-7, 11-4 PAC) came away with an important victory at Waynesburg (7-17, 3-12) on Wednesday night, defeating the Yellow Jackets 85-69.

Diaun Pinkett led the Cougars with his fourth double-double of the season, scoring a game-high 26 points and shooting 12-18, while also tallying game highs with 13 rebounds, 6 assists and 3 steals. Senior
Easton Fulmer netted 19 points off the bench for Chatham, knocking down 5 of his 8 three-point attempts. Junior
Drew Vizenor contributed 19 points and 7 boards for the Cougars while shooting 7-10 from the field. Senior
Lovenson Xavier tallied 15 points and dished out 3 assists for Chatham.

The Cougars scored the first 7 points of the contest, but Waynesburg responded with an 11-0 run prior to the game's first media timeout. Vizenor and Xavier then knocked down back-to-back three-point baskets, and a couple of Pinkett layups gave Chatham a 24-14 lead. Fulmer would make a couple of triples as the half continued, and the Cougars reached their largest advantage of the half when Pinkett drained a jumper with 6 minutes until halftime. The Yellow Jackets would score 10 consecutive points to cut into their deficit, but layups from
Sam Norfleet IV, Fulmer, and Xavier before the break put Chatham ahead 46-39 going into the locker room.

Waynesburg cut their deficit to 46-43 to begin the second half of play. Vizenor's three-point basket four minutes in then helped extend the Cougars' advantage to 8 points. Chatham would hold the Yellow Jackets scoreless for 5 minutes, and a Fulmer three with 11 minutes remaining would give push the Cougars' advantage to 63-48. A couple of layups by Vizenor kept the pressure on for Chatham, and it led by 17 with just under seven minutes to play. Waynesburg could only cut its deficit to 76-66, and another Fulmer triple and two Vizenor layups helped the Cougars complete the 16-point win.

Chatham shot 52.9 percent (36-68) from the field, and its 45.8 percent (11-24) three-point percentage was its second highest this season. Despite shooting 40.7 percent (11-27) from three-point range, the Yellow Jackets shot just 39 percent (23-59) from the field. The Cougars out-rebounded Waynesburg 38-32.

Men's Basketball is now in a four-way tie atop the PAC South with just one regular season game remaining, a senior day matchup at home against Saint Vincent at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
