Men's Basketball Clinches Share of PAC Regular Season Championship with Victory on Senior Day

PITTSBURGH, Pa. – Chatham Men's Basketball (17-7, 12-4 PAC) used a stellar second half to clinch an 83-74 victory over Saint Vincent (16-9, 11-5), the #2 South seed in the PAC Tournament, and a share of the regular season PAC title on senior day.
 
Senior Diaun Pinkett scored a game-high 26 points on 8-14 shooting. The Montour product secured his fifth double-double of the season, pulling down 11 rebounds with 3 assists. Senior Lovenson Xavier contributed 22 points, shooting 7-13 with 8 boards. Junior Drew Vizenor netted 12 points for the Cougars, knocking down both of his three-point attempts. Senior Jake TenBerge had 11 points, 2 assists and a game-high 2 blocks for Chatham.
 
Easton Fulmer and Xavier opened the game with three-point baskets for the Cougars. Pinkett would get on the board with 7 points in the first six minutes of play to give Chatham an 18-6 lead. A 10-2 Bearcat run would cut their advantage to 4, but 8 more Pinkett points put the Cougars ahead 33-26 with four minutes remaining in the half. In those last four minutes, Saint Vincent went on a 10-4 run to cut its deficit at halftime to a point.
 
The Bearcats then began the second half with 9 consecutive points, taking a 45-37 lead two minutes in. Chatham came back with run of their own, with TenBerge scoring 8 points in a 15-4 run the gave the Cougars another advantage. Saint Vincent battled back to go up 58-54, but Chatham again bounced back and a couple of Lasse Bungart free throws put the Cougars back on top by a point with six minutes remaining. 6 points from Xavier would put Chatham ahead 70-67, then a 9-0 scoring run within the final three minutes sealed the win for the Cougars.
 
Chatham made 55.6 percent of its field goals (25-45), including 65 percent (13-20) in the second half. Its 50 percent three-point percentage (7-14) was its second-best of the season. The Cougars held the Bearcats to 19 percent from three-point range (4-21), the second-lowest percentage by a Cougars' opponent in 2025-26.
 
Chatham will receive the #2 seed out of the PAC South and will host the North division's #3 seed, Grove City, on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
