NEW WILMINGTON, PA – Chatham Baseball (14-16, 6-6 PAC) twice came back in the final inning to sweep their doubleheader on Tuesday against Westminster (13-15, 8-6) by final scores of 5-4 and 10-8.

The Cougars opened up game one with a 2-0 lead.
Tyler Cote scored on a fielder's choice in the second inning, then
Jake Bredl's sac fly brought home
Peter Tadic for Chatham. The Titans struck back with 4 consecutive runs, scoring 2 in the fifth and 1 in both the seventh and eighth. Cote walked to begin the ninth, then
Cooper Baxter homered to tie the game. Tadic would go back-to-back with Baxter, driving a pitch over the left-center field fence to give Chatham the lead back.
Cason Bennett shut down Westminster in the bottom of the inning to solidify the Cougar victory.

Cooper Baxter went 2-4 in game one with 2 RBIs and a run scored, and
Peter Tadic was also 2-4 with 2 RBIs and scored twice for Chatham.
Gianni Cantini picked up his first win on the mound after allowing 2 earned runs in 2.2 innings.
Riley Baum and
Cason Bennett both threw a scoreless inning in relief, with Bennett picking up his first save of the season.

5 first-inning runs in game two for the Titans had them looking poised to earn a split. The Cougars came right back with 5 of their own, however, in the top of the second.
Nolan Boehm scored on a sac fly,
Peter Tadic came home on a walk,
Cooper Baxter touched the plate after a hit by pitch and
Eddie Rueda singled home
Devin Fluhmann and
Anthony Piasecki to knot the score. Westminster tacked on 3 additional runs in the fourth to take an 8-5 advantage. With darkness looming, Chatham would only have two more innings to make up the deficit. They got 2 runs back in the fifth when
Ty Blackburn's base hit plated Boehm and Baxter scored on a
Jake Bredl ground out. In the sixth and what would be final inning,
Angelo DeLeonardis came home on a Boehm single. Baxter then brought the last-inning heroics again, this time launching a double to bring around Tadic and Boehm as night fell and the Cougars claimed the sweep.

Cooper Baxter was 2-4 at the plate in game two with 2 RBIs and scored twice.
Peter Tadic was again 2-4 with 2 runs scored.
Eddie Rueda and
Ty Blackburn also drove in 2 Chatham runs in the second game.
Carter Beneigh tossed the final 2.1 innings for the Cougars and allowed no runs or hits with three strikeouts to earn the win.

Chatham will be back at West Field to host a doubleheader with Thiel on Saturday with first pitch scheduled for 2 p.m.
