Women's Volleyball Earns Record 11th Home Win With Sweep of Bison

PITTSBURGH, Pa. – Chatham Women's Volleyball (16-7, 11-4 PAC) earned their second consecutive 3-0 (25-21, 25-11, 25-23) home victory on Wednesday night over Bethany (7-17, 4-11).

The Cougars controlled the first set of the match, winning the opening three points before a Delaney Schwind ace would put them up 16-9. The Bison would go on a 6-0 run after trailing 23-15, but Vanessa Mleczko's ace closed out the set for Chatham. The Cougars' 12-2 run, aided by two Sierra Ricci aces, in the middle of set two gave them all they would need to reach a 2-0 match advantage. Bethany fought back in the third set, using a 15-4 run to lead 15-8. Chatham would claw back, however, capturing five of the frame's final six points to earn the sweep.

Becca Gesner's 10 kills were a match high, and the junior added 8 digs and an ace to her stat line. Evelyn White recorded 8 kills on .533 hitting for the Cougars. Delaney Schwind served up a match-high 4 aces and dished out a match-high 16 assists. Sierra Ricci improved on her Division III-leading digs per set mark, finishing with 8.33 per set in this match and 25 total. Paige Watson also contributed on both sides of the ball with 7 kills and 3 blocks. Chatham held the Bison to a .017 attacking percentage and finished with a 10-2 advantage over Bethany in aces. The Cougars' victory is their 11th home win of the 2025 season, setting a new school record for home victories in a single season.

Women's Volleyball closes out their regular season with a home match on Saturday against Washington & Jefferson. The senior day matchup determines the winner of the PAC South Division and begins at 12 p.m.
