Women's Volleyball Completes Straight Set, Season Sweep of Saint Vincent

LATROBE, Pa. – Chatham Women's Volleyball (14-4, 9-2 PAC) went on the road Wednesday night and came away with a straight set (25-21, 25-16, 25-21) victory over Saint Vincent (5-12, 4-7).

The teams contested the first set tightly, with the score being tied at 9-9, 11-11, and 14-14. The Cougars led 20-19 before a couple of aces and a Paige Watson kill allowed them to pull away and win the set. Chatham rode that momentum into set two, using three consecutive service aces from Evelyn White to take a 13-4 advantage. The Cougars held that large lead until kills and by Annika Solfronk and Watson put them up 2-0. The Bearcats attempted to battle back in the third frame, knotting the score at 12-12, but a 5-0 Chatham run would be all they needed to close the door. A Mleczko kill punctuated the Cougars' winning performance.

Mleczko's 11 kills on .250 attacking were a match high. The junior also recorded 10 digs to complete her third double-double in four matches and added two aces. White finished the match with a career high 5 service aces along with three blocks. Sierra Ricci recorded a match-high 14 digs and two aces. Delaney Schwind dished out a match-high 19 assists, and Annika Solfronk contributed to Chatham's attack with 7 kills. The Cougars held a 13-2 advantage over Saint Vincent in service aces.

Chatham will play two more road matches on Saturday at Grove City College Arena, taking on Grove City at 11 a.m. and Messiah in a nonconference matchup at 1 p.m.
