GROVE CITY, Pa. – Chatham Women's Volleyball (14-6, 9-3 PAC) traveled to Grove City College on Saturday for a tri-match. The Cougars fell to the Wolverines of Grove City (14-6, 7-5) by a 3-1 (25-19, 18-25, 25-22, 25-19) final before dropping the second match to Messiah (14-9, 3-2 MACCOM) by the same scoreline (26-24, 25-16, 25-22, 25-17).

Chatham fell behind early in the first match of the day before coming back strong to take set two. The Cougars were within 22-21 in the third set, but lost 3 of the final four points to give the Wolverines the match lead. A couple of
Delaney Schwind aces in the fourth set helped Chatham take a 14-11 advantage, but a 7-0 Grove City run later in the set all but sealed the Cougars' fate.

Becca Gesner finished with a match high 12 kills.
Paige Watson tallied 11 kills in the first match.
Vanessa Mleczko recorded 9 kills, 3 aces and 10 digs. Schwind had 19 assists, 3 aces and 10 digs for Chatham.
Sierra Ricci led the match with 24 digs. The Wolverines held a 14-3 edge in blocks and outhit the Cougars .225-.093 in the match.

Match two saw Chatham hold an 18-13 lead in the first set, but the Falcons would go up in the match by claiming 6 of 7 points to close the set. That momentum carried into set two, and the Cougars would find themselves trailing the match 2-0. They battled in the third frame, using five
Alexia Bowers kills to come back from a 15-10 deficit before ultimately dropping the match in four sets.

Becca Gesner recorded a team-high 11 kills in the match.
Delaney Schwind and
Vanessa Mleczko both had double-doubles for Chatham. Mleczko registered 10 kills and 11 digs, while Schwind totaled 20 assists and 12 digs.

The Cougars are back at the Athletic and Fitness Center on Wednesday to take on Waynesburg at 7 p.m.
