Bloom to Depart Cross Country, Track & Field Programs

PITTSBURGH - On Wednesday, Chatham's Head Cross Country and Track & Field Coach Eden Bloom announced her departure from the programs.

"I'm really thankful to have had the opportunity to coach at my alma mater," Bloom shared. "This program meant so much to me as an athlete and meant even more to me as a coach. To have experienced so many firsts - first NCAA qualifiers, All-Americans, school records, conference records, highest finishes - was truly incredible. The last five years have impacted me deeply and I'm happy to have spent those years here. I'm confident that these athletes have built the skills necessary to continue the program's success in the future. Thank you to the administration for the opportunity, to my colleagues for the mentorship, and to my athletes for their dedication, support and belief."

A Chatham alum, Bloom was part of the Cross Country, Track & Field and Women's Basketball programs during her college years. She served as Assistant Coach of Cross Country and Track & Field before becoming Head Coach in 2021. During Bloom's tenure, the Cougars accumulated 16 individual PAC titles, 14 USTFCCCA All-Region honors, the only five All-America honors in Chatham Athletics history and a multitude of school records.

"Under Coach Bloom, the program reached heights it had not before," said Chatham Vice President of Athletics and Recreation Leonard Trevino. "We want to thank her and wish her the best of luck moving forward."

Trevino stated that a nationwide search for a Head Cross Country and Track & Field Coach will begin immediately.
