PITTSBURGH - Chatham Women's Lacrosse (5-6, 2-2) took a 13-9 loss against the Grove City Wolverines (10-3, 5-0) on Saturday at UPMC Graham Field.

Erin Goodwin led the Chatham offense with three goals. Junior
Sam Beall-Dennell tallied three points on two goals and an assist with four draw controls. Graduate student
Bailey Donofrio also put up three points on a goal and two assists and added two draw controls. Senior
Felicia Hutter scored twice, picked up four ground balls and collected four draw controls. First year
Sarah Holt caused three turnovers and picked up a ground ball on defense. Freshman goalie
Meghan Cuza-Berry made 10 saves in net.
The Wolverines scored the first three goals of the game and shut the Cougars out in the first quarter, with Chatham failing to put a shot on goal. The Cougars found the net in the second quarter when Beall-Dennell converted on a free-position shot, but two quick Grove City markers increased the lead to 5-1. Beall-Dennell scored again just over a minute later to make it 5-2, but the Wolverines again answered with two quick scores. Chatham would bury the last two goals of the first half and go into the break down 7-4.
Grove City scored the first three goals of the second half to take a six-goal lead, their largest of the day, before Goodwin and Donofrio scored twice within a minute to cut it to 10-6. After the Wolverines scored to make it 11-6, Hutter scored twice in a 10-second span to bring the Cougars within three. However, Chatham was unable to capitalize on the momentum in the fourth, allowing two Grove City goals in the first 2:43 to go down by five. Goodwin's third goal was unable to provide a spark as both teams were held off the board for the final 11 minutes.
Shots were 28-19 in favor of the Wolverines. Each team scored two free-position goals, and Chatham was 18-23 on clears, while Grove City was 22-25.
Women's Lacrosse will host Waynesburg at 7 p.m. on Monday at UPMC Graham Field.
