HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. - Chatham Men's Lacrosse (3-2) rolled to a dominant 26-3 victory over the Centenary Cyclones (1-3) on Saturday at J.E. Reeves Jr. Field. The Cougars tied the program's single-game record of 26 goals which was set against Mount Saint Joseph in 2019.

Broden Zumbano led the Cougars with five points on two goals and three assists, which included his first career point and goal. Classmate

Mario Pusateri all manned the net in the game for Chatham, with Zaruba earning the win. 16 different Cougars recorded a point in the game, including 15 with a goal.
The Cougars took control from the very start with a goal from Rigdon 47 seconds into the game. Rigdon would assist Marsh on a goal less than two minutes later and score again just a minute after that to give Chatham a quick 3-0 lead in the first three-plus minutes. Marsh and Griffin scored 46 seconds apart with both goals assisted by sophomore
Jacob Lubawy to make it 5-0. Unassisted goals from Lubawy, Griffin and freshman
Luke Iovino grew the lead to 8-0, then the Cougars scored three more times in the final 1:06 of the first quarter to build an 11-0 lead.
Junior
Ethan Rinker scored 30 seconds into the second quarter, then Laughlin added another just 38 seconds later before the Cyclones finally got on the board, making the score 13-1. Freyre scored a man-up goal at 8:49, which was followed by a score from freshman
Noah Delo just 12 seconds later. Freyre scored again at 4:36 with an assist from Woodall, and then Woodall netted one of his own 36 seconds after that. First year
Devin Traister scored in the closing seconds of the half to give Chatham an 18-1 lead going into halftime.
Centenary scored the first goal of the second half, but Chatham answered with two goals from Woodall sophomore
Cody Rosati in a two-minute span to increase the lead to 20-2. Later in the quarter, Laughlin tallied a man-up goal with an assist from junior
Matthew Penny for his second score of the day. Ostapenko gave the Cougars a 20-goal lead with his first career goal at 3:39, then Zumbano scored his first career goal just 50 seconds later. Ostapenko scored again in the final minute of the third quarter to give Chatham a 24-2 lead.
Neither side scored in the fourth quarter until the Cyclones made it 24-3 at 6:55, but the Cougars immediately answered as Zumbano scored his second of the day, ending Chatham's longest drought of the contest. Laughlin completed his hat trick with the Cougars' 26th goal of the day to tie the program record.
Shots were 49-20 in favor of Chatham and the Cougars dominated 24-9 in the faceoff circle. The Purple and Grey converted on 2-3 extra-man opportunities and held the Cyclones to 0-2. Three goals allowed is the least for Chatham since 2022.
