BEREA, Ohio - Chatham Men's Lacrosse (3-3) came up short against the Baldwin Wallace Yellow Jackets (1-5) by the score of 16-11 at George Finnie Stadium on Wednesday. The Cougars outscored the Yellow Jackets 5-0 in the fourth quarter, but could not complete the comeback.
Sophomore
Alex Stanuikynas scored a hat trick to lead the Chatham offense. Sophomore

Tanner Marsh each had two goals and one assist, with Griffin adding three caused turnovers. Senior
Isaac Joshi had a goal and an assist with a caused turnover. Sophomore

Brady Rigdon each netted goals while junior
Ethan Rinker threw in an assist.
First year Colin Beaman collected two ground balls and was 6-12 in the faceoff circle. In goal, sophomore
Brett Zaruba made 11 saves.
The Cougars fell behind by a goal early on, but Stanuikynas tied the game at 1 in just 23 seconds. However, Baldwin Wallace went on to score the next six goals to take a 7-1 lead before Rigdon wrapped up the first quarter scoring.
The Jackets netted the first four goals of the second quarter to increase their lead to nine, then Stanuikynas scored his second of the day to make it 11-3 heading into halftime.
BW started the second half with another run of three goals in a 1:50 span. Griffin got on the board to make the game 14-4, then the two sides traded scores for the remainder of the quarter.
In the fourth, the Chatham offensive picked up the pace, with five goals, including four in a 3:17 span from Marsh, Joshi, Griffin and Lubawy, but it was too little too late for the Cougars.
Shots were narrowly in favor of Chatham at 47-46. The Jackets failed to convert on the only extra-man opportunity of the game and won the faceoff battle 17-13.
Chatham Men's Lacrosse returns to action Saturday afternoon at McDaniel.
