TRAFFORD, Pa. - August 29, 2023 - On Tuesday, the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) released its Preseason Poll and Runners to Watch for the 2023 Women's Cross Country season.

In the poll, Chatham was chosen to finish eighth in PAC with 40 vote points. The defending-champion Allegheny Gators topped the poll with 93 points and six first-place votes.

Two Cougars were selected as Runners to Watch: junior Clare Erwin and first-year Piper Young.

Erwin earned an All-PAC First Team nod last year after finishing sixth in the PAC Championships with a then personal-best 6k time of 23:04.0. She then beat that mark with a 22:57.3 at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regionals.

Young joins Chatham from Pine City, N.Y. and was one of just seven freshmen selected on this year's PAC Runners to Watch list.

Chatham Cross Country will begin its season on the road with a meet at Westminster on Sept. 1.
