GREENVILLE, Pa. - April 1, 2023 - Chatham Men's Lacrosse opened PAC play this afternoon at Thiel College. An early lead would only build for the Cougars as they rolled over the Tomcats for a 16-6 final.

First-year Alex Stanuikynas led the offensive charge for the Purple today, scoring five goals including both in the first quarter. Sophomore Ethan Rinker would tie for five points, scoring four goals and adding an assist. 

First-years Trent Griffin and Jacob Lubawy both hat tricked with Griffin adding a single assist and Lubawy adding four for a team-high seven points. 

Sophomore Paul Freyre would also tally two points on a goal and assist. 

In net, first-year Brett Zaruba would made 10 saves and sophomore Zen Smith would add the 11th. 

Senior face-off specialist Clark Styles would win 14 of 20 face-offs and contribute a team-high six ground balls. First-year Cody Randal went 3-6 in draws. Lubawy followed with five ground balls and two caused turnovers. Sophomore Thomas Curtin led the Cougars with four caused turnovers. 

The Cougars improve to 4-6 on the season and 1-0 in the PAC. They will travel to Bethany on Wednesday, April 5th for their second conference matchup.
