LATROBE, Pa. - November 15, 2023 - Chatham Men's Basketball (1-2, 0-1) stormed back from a 21-point second-half deficit, but ultimately fell short on the road against the Saint Vincent Bearcats (3-0, 1-0) 84-79 at the Robert S. Carey Center on Wednesday night.

Elijah Sutton led all scorers with 25 points on 8-13 shooting and 9-9 from the line. Sutton matched his career high in points and added five rebounds, two assists, two steals and two blocks. Senior
Luca Robinson netted 13 points and pulled down a career-high 10 rebounds on his way to his first career double-double. Sophomore
Diaun Pinkett set a new career-high in scoring for the second straight contest, recording 14 points on 5-9 shooting with six rebounds, four blocks and two steals. Senior
Simon Boyer was the other Cougar in double-figures. Boyer dropped 12 points and went 2-3 from deep.
The Cougars were solid on the offensive end in the first half, shooting 46.7% (14-30) from the field, but only knocked down one three, which allowed the Bearcats to go into halftime with a 39-34 lead. Chatham was active on defense in the first 20 minutes as well, with six blocks including four from Pinkett. A 14-5 run for Saint Vincent gave them a 14-point lead with under 14 minutes to play, and that lead would grow to 21 with under nine minutes left. However, the Cougars went on a 27-9 run down the stretch to pull within three points, but could not complete the comeback.
Chatham shot 44.4% (28-63) from the field, but only made three three-pointers in the game, which is their lowest total since Dec. 18, 2019 at W&J. Rebound totals were 42-36 in favor of the Bearcats and turnovers were 12-11, also in the favor of Saint Vincent.
Men's Basketball returns home Saturday afternoon with a matchup against the Presidents of W&J.
