BETHANY, W.Va. – April 12, 2022 – The Chatham University baseball team could not dispel the hosting Bethany Bison Friday afternoon, kicking off the Easter weekend in disappointing fashion after an 11-2 loss on the road.
Bethany cruised to a 7-0 lead through four innings and got runs in each of the first five innings of the nine-frame affair. Both of Chatham's runs came in the fifth innings off the bats of senior

Brandon Griener, the two top bats in terms of batting average on the Cougars this season.
Chatham surrendered a season-high 18 base hits to Bethany and were outhit one to three for the contest. The Cougars also committed three gaffes in the field. The Cougars' base hits were courtesy of Lehman, Griener, first-years

All four Cougar pitchers that toed the rubber gave up at least four base hits and two runs. First-year pitcher
Drew Schreck started and took the loss after two innings of work. Senior
Mason Akers went an inning before being relieved by sophomore
Mason Schwartz and first-year
David McSorley. Both pitchers struck out a pair of Bison while McSorley concluded the final three innings.
Both teams will tango tomorrow at West Field for a double header scheduled to start at 2:00.
