PITTSBURGH, Pa. - December 20, 2022 - Chatham Men's Basketball fell to Carnegie Mellon on the road 90-73 Tuesday afternoon. The Cougars are now 5-5 overall on the season.
Senior guard
Marcos Cintron led the Cougars with 24 points on 9-19 shooting, including 4-8 on three pointers. Sophomore guard
Isaiah Smith paced the team with seven rebounds and added 18 points. In his first game of the season, senior guard
Brandon Lavernia scored 10 points and led the team with three assists.
The Tartans opened the game on a 12-3 run and forced the Cougars to play catch up for nearly all 40 minutes. CMU took a 10-point lead with 9:37 left in the first half and kept the lead at double-digits for the remainder of the contest, leading by as many as 21.
Carnegie Mellon out rebounded Chatham 42-36 and dominated in the paint, out scoring the Cougars 40-22 inside.
Men's Basketball's next contest comes on the road at Grove City on New Year's Eve.
