PITTSBURGH, Pa. – September 7, 2021 – The Chatham women's soccer team rebounded from the season opener and was able to wear down Juniata 3-0 at home Tuesday evening. The win evens Chatham's record at 1-1.
Chatham's offense pressured the Eagle defense right away with a quartet of shots in the first seven minutes. After a foul was committed by Juniata in the box, junior
Greta Mort cashed in with a penalty kick goal at 9:53. Chatham outshot Juniata 12-2 in the first half but held a 1-0 lead heading to the halftime break.
In the second half, Chatham had a tougher time getting shots off, but were able to convert two more goals before the final horn. First, junior
Maggie Toomey crossed from the far side of the box to the far, leaving graduate
Kyla Kelley wide open for the goal at 66:20. Nine minutes later, senior
Morgan Anderson found junior
Olivia Wood for the third and final tally at the 75

For the match, the Cougars outshot the Eagles 18-8 including 8-2 on goal. Both of Juniata's shots on goal were taken in the second half. Chatham attempted five corners while Juniata mustered three. First-year goalkeeper
Hannah Ehrlich got her first start of her young collegiate career and stopped both shots on goal fired her direction.
The women's soccer team returns to the pitch on Saturday, September 11 with a home matchup against Oberlin. Kickoff is set for 4:00 pm.
