PITTSBURGH, Pa. – April 6, 2021 – The Chatham men's soccer team took perennial PAC power Grove City to overtime in a gutsy effort but came up on the losing end of a 3-2 decision to the Wolverines.
Chatham took its first lead of the season at 11:47 after first-year
Pascal Despinos weaved his way through a sea of red to laser the ball into the back of the net. Grove City would answer with two goals at the 14
th and 29
th minutes, taking a 2-1 lead into half.
In the second half, Grove City got much more aggressive compared to Chatham. The Cougars had just one shot all half, which ended up being a goal by sophomore

With the score tied at 2-2, neither team could get a scoring opportunity. It took an extra 1:50 to decide the winner, and ultimately it was Grove City who came away triumphant.
Chatham was outshot for the game 21-6 including 9-3 on goal. However, two of the three Cougar shots on goal ended up being scores. Grove City also had seven corner kick attempts.
First-year
Timmy Creamer had one of his best outings in net for Chatham, stopping six Wolverine shots. Nasso had the only other shot on goal for Chatham.
The Cougars will continue their search for their first win on Friday, April 9 at Westminster with an 8:30 start time.
