NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – April 9, 2021 – The Chatham men's soccer team scored first but couldn't score last in Friday night's 3-1 defeat at Westminster.

The first and only goal by Chatham was scored by first-year
Pascal Despinos, his second in as many games, after he got a low hanging pass from sophomore
Ryan Tahbaz at 25:42. The lead would stick until 18 seconds remained in the first half, when Westminster struck back and tied the game at 1-1.

In the second half, Westminster got more aggressive, and it paid off late in the contest. The Titans scored in the 75
th and 81
st minutes to snatch victory away from the hopeful visitors.

Chatham was outshot for the game 16-7, including 8-3 on goal. The Cougars had just one corner kick opportunity, while the Titans had seven such chances. These statistics came in spite of Westminster being assessed with three yellow cards.

Outside of Despinos, the other shots on goal were registered by sophomores
Leandro Nasso and
Marco Piccolo. First-year goalkeeper
Timmy Creamer made four saves.

Chatham returns home on Tuesday April 13 for a matchup with the Franciscan Barons at 7:30 p.m. at Graham Field.
