WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - November 21, 2021 - Chatham Women's Hockey continued their hot streak today with their fourth straight conference win, fifth straight overall win, and third win this week with their 7-1 decision over King's College today.
Sophomore Cameron Carmody came to play today, netting her first of three goals just five minutes into regulation with the assist to Allison Corser-James. Ten minutes later, Carmody went for number two with help again from Corser-James and first-year Trinity Antonio. Before the period was through, sophomore Ally Nolan would net a final goal with 34 seconds remaining, capitalizing off of passes from classmates Lauren Carmody and Kaylynn Savoy.
In the second, Chatham would score just once, but not without a big impact. Sophomore Abi Fuzaylov received a pass from junior Brooke Almond on the penalty kill, finding the back of the net shortly after to keep the Monarchs tamed.
Chatham came back with an offensive vengeance in the third, motivated by an early Monarchs power play goal. In return, the Cougars would net two straight power play goals thanks to Carmody yet again and Kaylynn Savoy, assisted by junior Dena Akers, Lauryn Hawley and Lauren Carmody respectively. For good measure, Savoy would tuck another puck into an empty corner just past the halfway point of the period.
In the circle, Cameron Carmody did just as well, winning a team-high 15 face-offs.
First-year Lindsey Batz would get her first collegiate start, making 11 saves in the win.
The Cougars return to play on Friday, December 3 at Manhattanville for their last series of 2021.
