NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. - Jan. 25, 2020 - The Cougars (11-5, 4-4) continued their road conference play with a matchup in New Wilmington, PA as they took on Westminster (14-3, 7-1) on Saturday, January 25th. They were recently coming off a road loss to the Bearcats of Saint Vincent on Wednesday, January 22nd by a final of 62-52.

The first quarter was a back and forth battle between both teams, with Chatham trailing the Titans 12-11 with two minutes to play in the quarter. The two opponents went scoreless the final two minutes of the quarter, with the Titans staying on top 12-11 heading into the second.

Chatham went on a tear to open the second quarter, going on a 10-1 run to go out ahead 21-12 over Westminster. The Titans chipped away at the large margin to eventually cut the lead to one with four minutes to play until the half. Westminster would eventually surpass Chatham taking the lead 30-26 with two minutes to play in the half. They would stay out ahead of the Cougars 32-27 at halftime.

Westminster continued their run from the first half, extending the lead to 8 after a pair of Emily Fromknecht free throws fell making the score 39-31. With under two minutes to play Chatham cut the score to 41-37 after sophomore Aliyah Labriola sank two free throws. Fromknecht got a put back layup at the buzzer to fall pulling the Titans lead back out to six making the score 43-37 going into the final quarter.

The deciding quarter turned into a nail bitter quickly, with the Cougars trimming the lead to two after junior Katie Fertig's layup made the score 45-43. Chatham eventually regained the lead after grad student Emily Ondo connected on a three putting them ahead one, 48-47. Westminster responded with four straight points putting them up 51-48. With a minute to play, Ondo drilled another three to tie the game back up at 51-51.
