Cougars split weekend in non-conference matchup against Buffalo State

BUFFALO, NY. – Dec. 7th, 2019 – The Chatham University women's hockey team split their weekend matchup against Buffalo State with a loss Saturday 4-0.
 
RECORDS: The Cougars fall to 5-5-1 while Buffalo State improves to 2-9-0.
 
WHAT'S NEXT: Chatham faces Trine to start off the new year in a non-conference matchup Friday, January 10th. Puck drop is set for 4:00 p.m.
 
SCORING SUMMARY: Buffalo State scored the first goal of the contest eight minutes into regulation.

Buffalo State scored a power-play goal in the second period to increase their lead against Chatham by a pair.

The Bengals scored another power-play goal with six minutes remaining in the second period.

Buffalo State led Chatham 3-0 heading into the third period.

Chatham pulled their goalie with seven minutes remaining in regulation but couldn't find the back of the net.

The Bengals scored an empty-net goal to secure the victory over the Cougars, 4-0.

GOALTENDING: Devon Strachan suffered the loss for the Cougars making 25 saves including 11 in the second period.

SHOTS LEADER: Sydney Collins and Ashley Marchant led the Chatham attack with fives shots on goal each.
 
FACEOFFS: Collins won a team high 17 faceoffs while Holly Ackerman went 11-9 in the circle.
