ASTON, Pa. – Nov. 22, 2019 – The Chatham University men's hockey team lost a close matchup against Neumann Friday night 5-3.
RECORDS: With the loss, Chatham falls to 1-6-0 (1-3-0 UCHC) while Neumann improves to 2-3-0 (2-3-0 UCHC).
WHAT'S NEXT: Chatham faces Manhattanville on the road Saturday, November 23rd in a conference matchup. Puck drop is set for 3:30 p.m.
SCORING SUMMARY: The Cougars started off strong in the first period, scoring one minute into the game
thanks to
Tristan Simm assisted by
Michael Lamison.
Neumann answered back now tying the score 1-1.
Less than a minute later, Neumann scored again now leading Chatham 2-1.
Chatham scored two minutes later thanks to
Kenneth Gill, tying the score for the second time in this contest 2-2.
Neumann came out hot and scored a minute into the second period, now ahead of Chatham 3-2.
Halfway through the third period, Neumann scored making their lead 4-2.
The Cougars scored with five minutes remaining in regulation from
Anthony Dom with assists by
Niko Moulakelis and
Andrew Warhoftig.
Chatham pulled their goalie with moments to spare but came up short. Neumann secured the win over the Cougars 5-3.
GOALTENDING: Karl Zodda suffered the loss tonight for the Cougars. Zodda recorded 28 saves, including 13 in both the second and third period.
SHOTS LEADER: Cory King and Simm led the Cougar attack with five shots on goal each.
FACE-OFFS: King won a team best nine face-offs.
Eric Hildebrand won nine draws in the circle.
