PITTSBURGH, PA. – Sept. 22, 2018 – The Chatham University women's soccer team earned the win in today's double overtime thriller versus Frostburg State in the final 40 seconds.

The team is participating in the United Soccer Coaches Play With Pride Week September 17-23. At today's game, the Cougars wore special rainbow laces to show their support for LGBT athletes, coaches, administrators, referess and fans.
COUGARS ON THE ATTACK
Chatham outshot Frostburg State 23-16, including 12 shots on frame.

Morgan Anderson all totaled two shots on goal each. The Cougars held an 8-2 corner kick advantage.
GOOOOOAL
Steffy earned her third goal of the year when she found the back of the net for the first goal of the game at 60:32. Frostburg State answered back with a goal of their own less than five minutes later. The next 45 minutes were scoreless until Vernail scored to end the game. This is her first goal of the season.
OT TALK
The first overtime saw missed opportunities by the Cougars including one penalty kick and two corner kicks. The team put the pressure on the Bobcats with four consecutive shots but found no luck. Sophomore goalkeeper
Ashley Bergman kept the Cougars in the game making two great saves in overtime. Chatham just needed one shot on goal to end the game in the final overtime and Vernail gave them just that. In the final 40 seconds off a pass from Anderson, Vernail was able to find the back of the net. The crowd went wild.
BACKLINE STRONG
The Cougar defense stepped up in overtime allowing zero Bobcat shots in the first ten minutes. In the final ten, Bergman made two saves. Chatham only allowed two Frostburg State corner kicks today.
