Six Cougars score in Chatham's 6-5 OT victory at King's

PITTSTON, PA – Nov. 9, 2018 – Six Cougars scored in Chatham's 6-5 OT victory over King's this evening.

RECORDS: With the first win of the season, Chatham improves to 1-2 overall, 1-1 UCHC while King's falls to 0-5 overall, 0-3 UCHC. 

WHAT'S NEXT: Chatham continues conference play at Wilkes on Saturday. 

SCORING SUMMARY: King's got off to a strong start scoring two minutes into regulation. The Monarch would add two power-play goals over the next four minutes. 

Liam Gentile put the Cougars on the board with a power-play goal at 14:42 assisted by Jake Reed and Derek Schrank

King's ended the first period with a goal giving them a 4-1 edge. 

The first Monarch goal of the second period would be the final goal for King's as the Cougars would go on a five goal run.

At 10:13 in the second period, Christopher Lutz found the back of the net unassisted on a power-play. 

Andrew Breda enjoyed a power-play goal at 13:20 in the second, thanks to assists from Eric Hildebrand and Kirk Underwood

Chad Bell scored off a power-play early in the third period, assisted by Christopher Lutz and Kirk Underwood to make it a one point game. 

Michael Thamert had the game-tying goal at 9:38 in the third, off assists from Chad Bell and Kirk Underwood

Daniel Cangelosi found the back of the net just 1:28 into overtime to hand the Cougars their first win of the season. 

GOALTENDING: First-year Ricardo Gonzalez started in net for the Cougars. Gonzalez recorded seven saves in the first period. Brian Baker earned the win at goal tonight playing just under 40 minutes. Baker made 13 saves with zero goals against. 
 
SHOTS LEADER: Kirk Underwood led the Cougar attack with nine shots. Andrew Breda tallied eight, Jake Reed finished with seven and Chad Bell notched six. 
 
FACE-OFFS: Underwood won a team best nine face-offs. Lutz and Brett Reed finished with seven wins in the face-off circle.
