Chatham falls on the road at Wilkes

WILKES-BARRE, PA – Nov. 10, 2018 – The Chatham men's hockey team fell 8-4 on the road to Wilkes University.

RECORDS: With the loss, Chatham falls to 1-3 overall, 1-2 UCHC while Wilkes improves to 3-2 overall, 2-1 UCHC. 

WHAT'S NEXT: Chatham plays host to Neumann on Friday November 16th and Manhattanville November 17th at the Frozen Pond Arena. 

SCORING SUMMARY: Wilkes was first on the board with a goal three minutes in.  

Cory King put the Cougars on the board with a power-play goal at 4:57, assisted by Chad Bell and Andrew Breda

Clay Plyler found the back of the net at 12:50 in the first period, thanks to assists from Dan Bellafiore and Kirk Underwood.  

The Colonels netted two back to back power-play goals with just under five minutes remaining in the first period. 

At 17:53 in the first period, Chris Lutz tied the game up with a goal assisted by Michael Lamison and Tristan Simm

Wilkes ended the period with a power-play goal.

The Colonels started the second period with three more goals handing them a 7-3 edge over Chatham.  

Clay Plyler netted his second goal of the ggame at 18:17 in the second period, assisted by John Ryan and Johan Allingmon

The third period saw just one Wilkes goal to end the game 8-4. 

GOALTENDING: Brian Baker suffered the loss recorded 16 saves and seven goals against in 35 minutes of action. Ricardo Gonzalez came in for relief facing one shot in the second period and five in the third. 
 
SHOTS LEADER: Daniel Cangelosi, Clay Plyler and Kirk Underwood each registered five shots in the loss. Tristan Simm notched four shots. Cory King and Chris Lutz recorded three shots apiece. 
 
FACE-OFFS: Daniel Cangelosi went 10-5 in the face-off circle and Chris Lutz won eight draws.
