PITTSBURGH, Pa. – NOVEMBER 9th, 2018 – Chatham rolled passed Penn State Beaver 77-62 in the 2018-19 season opener this evening. This marks head coach
David Richards first career win. The Cougars improve to 1-0, while the Lions falls to 0-1.
Isaiah Brown led four Cougars in double figures with 21 points while
Will Sandherr added 17,
Anthony Bomar scored 11 and
Shawn Erceg chipped in 13 points and a team high 10 boards.
Chatham came back from a 10 point deficit four minutes into the game to take a 35-32 lead over Penn State Beaver at the half. Once the Cougars took the lead with five minutes remaining in the first half there was no looking back. The Cougars shot 52% from the field, 56% from beyond the arc and 69% from the charity stripe in the second half to secure the victory.
Chatham was credited with 16 assists led by seven from
Anthony Bomar and three from
Alex Schoppen. The Cougars tallied 22 points off of 13 forced Lion turnovers.
Marc Wells grabbed a game-high three blocks, adding eight rebounds. Wells and
Andrew Drugan each registered two steals.
