Cougars earn seven first place finishes at Westminster

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa – NOVEMBER 18th, 2017 – The Chatham University Women's Swimming and Diving team traveled to New Wilmington, Pa. to take on Westminster College in a PAC matchup. The Cougars fell 158-100.

RELAYS: The Cougar quartet of Mallory Marzolf, Samantha Ream, Jade Marzolf and Iris Marzolf tallied a first place finish with a time of 4:13.39 in the 400 yard medley relay. Christine Mikita, Iris Marzolf, Jade Marzolf and Paige Garase touched in second with a time of 1:46.79 in the 200 yard freestyle relay.

FREESTYLE: Christine Mikita touched the wall first in the 1000 yard freestyle with a time of 11:14.43 shaving off two seconds from her last meet time. Mallory Marzolf finished first in the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 1:58.00. Mikita clocked in third in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 26.40. Marzolf earned a first place time of 54.27 in the 100 yard freestyle. In the 500 yard freestyle, Mikita placed second with a time of 5:37.40.

BACKSTROKE: Samantha Ream placed third in the 200 yard backstroke with a time of 2:24.35.

BREASTSTROKE: Iris Marzolf stopped the clock at 1:13.04 for a first place finish in the 100 yard breaststroke. In the 200 yard breaststroke, Marzolf finished second with a time of 2:35.53.

BUTTERFLY: Jade Marzolf recorded a second place finish in the 200 yard butterfly with a time of 2:25.51. Marzolf found a first place win in the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 1:02.93.

IM: Mallory Marzolf tabbed another first place finish in the 200 yard IM with a time of 2:14.52. Samantha Ream finished second with a time of 2:24.25.

WHAT'S NEXT: The Cougars are back in action on November 30th at the Wooster Invitational.
