Cougars Tie Presidents 115-115

WASHINGTON, Pa – NOVEMBER 1^ST, 2017 – The Chatham University Women's Swimming and Diving team took on the Presidents of W&J. Chatham tied W&J 115-115. The meet was highlighted by Christine Mikita, Mallory Marzolf and Jade Marzolf all earning two first place finishes each.

RELAYS: The Cougar quartet made up of junior Aurelia Sheehan and the three Marzolf sisters, first year Mallory and juniors Iris and Jade, earned first in the 200 yard medley with a time of 1:55.31. In the 200 yard freestyle relay, junior Samantha Ream, junior Christine Mikita, sophomore Paige Garase and sophomore Carlie Klanica tabbed a second place finish.

FREESTYLE: Christine Mikita touched the wall at 11:12.77 in the 1000 yard freestyle for a first place finish. Mallory Marzolf stopped the clock at 1:58.52 for a first place finish in the 200 yard freestyle. In the 50 yard freestyle Aurelia Sheehan came in at 26.51 touching for second. Iris Marzolf finished second in the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 57.23, followed closely by Aurelia Sheehan with a third place finish at 57.75. Christine Mikita finished first in the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 5:33.98.

IM: Jade Marzolf finished first in the 200 yard IM with a time of 2:21.67.

BUTTERFLY: Jade Marzolf earned another first place finish with a time of 1:02.80 in the 100 yard butterfly.

BACKSTROKE: Mallory Marzolf brought home a first place finish in the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 1:00.44.

BREASTSTROKE: Iris Marzolf clocked in at 1:12.24 for a first place finish in the 100 yard breaststroke. Samantha Ream touched in second with a time of 1:16.28.

ON THE BOARDS: In the one meter dive, first year Nicole Swaney took third.

WHAT'S NEXT: The Cougars host Penn St. Behrend this Saturday in the Sigo Faulk Natatorium at 1 pm.
