WAYNESBURG, PA. – Oct. 14, 2017 – The Chatham University women's volleyball team defeated host Waynesburg 3-1 (25-15, 25-23, 23-25, 25-16) in Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) action on Saturday.
RECORDS: The Cougars, who have won a season-high five straight, improve to 12-8, 4-8 PAC while Waynesburg falls to 1-19, 0-13 PAC.
WHAT'S NEXT: Chatham will head home and host Thiel on Monday at 7 pm, followed by a home tri-match with Mount Aloysius and Westminster on Wednesday and a home match versus Grove City on Saturday.
LEADING THE ATTACK: Sophomore outside hitter
Justyne Lasher (Ford City, Pa./Armstrong) enjoyed a match-high 17 kills (.325) with 13 digs.
Junior middle blocker
Mckenzie Bonnett (Champaign, Ill./Centennial) tallied 13 kills (.423).
Five Cougars enjoyed at least four kills on Saturday.
DISTRIBUTION LINE: The Chatham offense was led by sophomore setters
Mckenzie Bates (Lancaster, Ohio/Lancaster) and
Brooke Petrillo (Derry, Pa./Derry Area), who dished out 22 and 15 assists, respectively.
BACK ROW PLAY: Following Lasher's team-high 13 digs, sophomore libero
Sydney Stevens (Monroeville, Pa./Gateway) enjoyed 12 digs.
