Strong second half not enough for the Cougars to overcome the Saints

Box Score PITTSBURGH, Pa – JANUARY 3rd, 2016 – The Chatham Cougars fell short of a comeback to the Thomas More Saints falling 83-72.

Key Players
  • Sophomore Isaiah Brown (Scott, Ark./North Pulaski) led Chatham in scoring with 20 points.
  • Sophomore Alex Schoppen (Gibsonia, Pa./Pittsburgh Central Catholic) recorded 18 points all of which were earned from beyond the arc.
  • Sophomore Josh Randall (Mckees Rock, Pa./Montour) tabbed 14 points.
  • Sophomore Anthony Bomar (Bethel Park, Pa./Bethel Park) finished with 13 assists, nine rebounds and three steals.
 
Inside the numbers
  • The Cougars came back from a 25 point deficit to end the game down by just 11 in the final minutes.
  • Chatham outscored Thomas More 39-37 in the second half.
  • The bench contributed 19 points.
  • Chatham scored 13 points off of 12 Saints turnovers.
  • The Cougars only allowed two Thomas More steals the entire game.

Chatham will add two more men's varsity sports beginning play in 2017-2018; ice hockey and lacrosse.
