Chatham Hosts Grove City; Defeated 72-54

Box Score PITTSBURGH, PA. – FEBRUARY 10th, 2016 -- The Chatham University Men's Basketball team hosted the Grove City College Wolverines tonight in a conference match up. The Cougars were defeated by the Wolverines 72-54.

Three starting Cougars scored double figures tonight. First Year Nasir Alexander (Kissimmee, Fla. / Osceola) led Chatham finishing with 13 points. First Year Isaiah Brown (Scott, Ark. / North Pulaski) scored 11 points with 5 assists. Sophomore Logan Hunter (Greensburg, Pa. / Hempfield) scored 10 points.

Chatham led 28-24 at the half, but Grove City would come out and score the first 7 points in the second half, and would not look back. Grove City would outscore the Cougars 48-26 in the second half, and the Cougars could just not find a way to catch up. Chatham would force 20 Wolverines turnovers tonight, but could not capitalize on them when it mattered.

Chatham is now 4-18 overall, and 4-11 in the PAC, keeping them in 8th place as they head into the final 3 games of conference play. Grove City improves to 15-7 overall, and 10-5 in the conference.

The Cougars are back on the court this Saturday February 13th when they travel to Beaver Falls, Pa. to take on the Geneva College Golden Tornadoes. Tipoff is set for 7:30 pm.
