PITTSBURGH, Pa. - On Wednesday, Chatham University announced that Zach Ianello is joining the men's basketball coaching staff.

Ianello joins the Cougars after spending a postgraduate year playing at St. Thomas More School in Connecticut, Ianello began his collegiate career as a player at Nebraska Wesleyan University. After an injury ended his career, he transferred to the University of Kansas, where he served as a student manager for the Jayhawks' Women's Basketball program and earned his degree in Sport Management.

During his time in Lawrence, he gained significant player development and operational experience while also coaching for the Kansas City Elite AAU organization and working various camps, including the Bill Self Basketball Camps.

Athletics run deep in the Ianello family. Zach is the son of Rob Ianello, a long-time college football coach and current General Manager for Kansas Jayhawk Football, and Denise Dove Ianello, a longtime collegiate and professional basketball coach and WNBA scout.

At Chatham, Ianello will assist in all aspects of the program, including on-court player development, scouting, recruiting and day-to-day operations.
