Chatham Drops Home Contest to Grove City

Box Score PITTSBURGH, Pa – DECEMBER 10th, 2016 – After controlling the game for the first half, Chatham ultimately fell to the Grove City Wolverines in the final minute of the game 66-64.

Key Players
  • Sophomore guard Alex Schoppen (Gibsonia, Pa./Pittsburgh Central Catholic) led the Cougars in scoring with 17 points. Schoppen went 5-8 from beyond the arc. He had five rebounds and two steals.
  • Sophomore guard Josh Randall (Mckees Rock, Pa./Montour) recorded 11 points.
  • Sophomore guard Isaiah Brown (Scott, Ark./North Pulaski) finished with 10 points and 4-4 from the free throw line. Brown had two assists and two steals.
  • Sophomore point guard Anthony Bomar (Bethel Park, Pa./Bethel Park) led the team with nine rebounds. He finished with eight points and five assists.
 
Inside the numbers
  • The Cougars jumped out to a 12-4 lead four minutes into the game.
  • Chatham kept control of the first half leading 34-28.
  • The second half was back and forth with five ties and four lead changes.  
  • The bench would score 17 points for Chatham.
  • The Cougars scored 11 points off of 16 forced Grove City turnovers.

  • The Cougars are back on the court on December 20th when they travel to Puerto Rico for the Puerto Rico College Sports Tours Tournament.

Chatham will add two more men's varsity sports beginning play in 2017-2018; ice hockey and lacrosse.
